Wk 36-26 – Weekly Note

Notes, thoughts and highlights from Week 36, 2026.

7 September 2026.
Starbucks, Versova.

Writing this first thing on a Monday morning. Cos missed last week. And I dont want to miss two weeks in a row.

So, I had a long day yesterday and day before. On Saturday, I was part of a shoot. Then I hung out with my people. And then I went to meet some friends from MDI. And then, on Sunday I hung out with more friends and did more conversations. Mostly ok. And lot of ideas and insights.

The primary thing that am taking away from this week and weekend is that money talks. Everything is manageable and doable if you have the money. If there’s one thing that you want to take away from this post, let it be this.

Ok, now, onto regular programming.

The track of the week is Chal Chale. I am listening to this version (not the best audio). I love the rawness and grainyness of this version. I love the delay and distortion!

If you are a purist, you may want to listen to this one.

Ok, lets go!

.

Highlights, reflections, updates, notes and thoughts from the week gone by.

1/ Update on the August Plan

I had decided that in August I will do the following…

  1. Work more on WeAreC4E.com. Make it into a lead magnet for event piece for C4E.
  2. I am thinking of shipping the CRM tool to the world. I find value in it. Let’s see if others will find value as well. So, I will make a landing page and will try to give demo to people and sell them a subscription. In case you want to buy, am selling it for $99 a year.
  3. Make Book 2 shippable. It’s almost ready. Just that I need to make a pass thru it.
  4. Operate in Eco Mode. And as a part of that, use cash as much as I can (against digital payments). Unless absolutely necessary. I want to add friction to the money spending thing.

I missed Book2. I think I will drop it off my plate. I dont think I have it in me to ship another book. Funnily, the ghostwriting piece seems to be working well. I have many open leads and healthy inbound (read that as 1 a week).

However, on C4E, despite my attempts (similar to the ones I made on ghostwriting), I’ve not been able to get outcomes. I think this is because the SEO piece on ghostwriting is easy.

Eco mode has been ok. I wont say I did well. But I was indeed mindful about my expenses.

I failed at the CRM tool. I took help from Krishna as well but together we failed. So I will park it. May come back to it in a few days. But for the time being, its parked.

.

2/ The plan for September

We are one week in September and I feel I have derailed. I mean, I didnt plan for anything and I didnt get to make any large outcomes so far. Also the way life is, I think Sep will be in limbo. I will think about this during the week and in case by the next week I can think of something, I will update this.

If you have any ideas on what I could be doing, please lemme know.

.

3/Food-Junkie

Lemme talk about myself here. Its a world-wide well-known thing that I have consistent struggle with fitness, diet control and all that. I am a man inspired by my quirks and vibes and I do things by the mood, than by the book. And one of the things that I can not stop doing is to eat snacks. You know, Kurkure and all that. Lets park this for a bit.

When I see folks who can’t help but have alcohol, substances, drugs etc etc, I often wonder why can they not simply control their urges and operate more mindfully. To a point that I judge people. And I would build associative conversations that by being a junkie, they are making the lives of their loved ones hell.

And I dont know when this epiphany happened that I am the same. I may not be abusing substances but i do abuse food. And I am a food-junkie. And I need to find a solution.

PS: NN Taleb says that two of the toughest addictions are sugar and salary. I quit salary a while ago and I need to cut sugar now. Help me with it!

.

4/ PG on brevity

PG says, “AI will be especially fatal to writing that takes too long to get to the point. Now there will always be a more concise alternative, and 99% of readers will choose it.”

When PG says something, I stop everything and pay close attention. And this piece from him is like a death knell for me. I do not have the brevity muscle in me. I can’t make a point in less words. I ramble and rant and whine and meander and write like there’s no end. I get carried with the flow while I write and I assume that people who read me (handful) would like to go on the journey with me. I like to jump from topic to topic and I can even be in the realm of absurdism. And even in these times when people no longer have the attention span to read, I continued to think that some folks get joy from reading.

And if PG’s correct (he often is), I don’t stand a chance in the times to come.

.

5/ Write More.

Continuing from the previous one, I think I want to write more. It’s one of those few activities that put me in the flow. I can often find myself lost in my thoughts and my head and keyboard when I am writing. To me, its one of the most high leverage actions that I take for my sanity.

Just that since I hypermaxxed on claude (see the image below), I’ve been spending all my laptop time on it.

Now, clauding is not a bad thing. But I know that it is not really “deep” work. I talk to it and I get some output that I flaunt. I am a mere orchestrator and a manager. I am not a maker. And at best, its an addiction and distraction. And nothing wrong with it. Just that I dont “create” things. I am not a maker. And unless I am a maker, well, I am no one.

The other thing about writing is that it opens doors for me. A lot of close friends and relationships have happened because people read what I wrote. People resonated and reached out. I could text them and send them links and they would react, reply and all that.

So, write more ;P

.

6/ Shoot. People. Gratitude.

This weekend I was part of a shoot.

We at C4E did it in collaboration with Collabor8.

And I had fun. I hope everyone had fun. More than fun, at least I was full of gratitude. I was able to pull it off because I could pull in favors from people who believe in me. I got things for cheap, things fast, things easy. And people showed up. And they did better than they would at some other “commercial” thing. Another example of people create magic.

I cant name each person who worked hard but I can talk about some that come to mind. The start was Aoneha and Vikram to get an artist to agree to be a part of the shoot. Then I was able to ask for help from Sampat for the venue. Then Naman pitched in with bringing my vision to life with his work on AI. Raunak (and Sam) helped with the direction. Sampat’s team again pitched in to help me reduce the equipment rental cost.

No wonder they say it takes a village. And am I glad that this village exists!

PS: I am not happy about pulling favours and not paying people as much as I would have liked to pay. I know money is the grease. And I know I need to be able to more mindful about it.

.

7/ Neelesh Misra

One my friends works with Neelesh Misra. And while we were chilling at my place on the weekend, I was taken down the memory lane to my time from around early 2010s.

I used to work in Gurgaon and commuted almost everyday from East Delhi. The ride would take me anywhere between 50 minutes and 3 hours depending on traffic. Mind you, this is pre whatsapp, pre Jio days and all I had was a Blackberry. And thus my constant companion was radio.

One of those companions was Yaad Sheher by Neelesh Misra. I remember I would time my drive from office to home to be able to catch up with the entire episode of Yaad Sheher. I loved the voice – right kind of balmy, right kind of warmth, right kind of passion. I loved the stories – rooted in small-town India, the kinds I could relate to. The kinds I can relate even now. I loved the curation of music. And the right-timing of the breaks in the story to keep me hooked. If I could, I would place Yaad Sheher up there in terms of the best things to have happened to entertainment.

It had no brain rot content, it had no gossip, it had no potshots, it had no one being dissed. And yet it hooked me. And probably many more people.

So yeah! Yaad Sheher ki yaad.

PS: Must give a shoutout to The Band Called 9. This is where I first heard magic of Shilpa Rao. And, on the way to work in the mornings, my companion was Saarthak (linkedin, insta) and Adam.

.

8/ Mobile first

Plainly said, I want to use mobile to work and all.

Today, if I need to do anything, I need to get to my laptop. Even the simple task of booking a ticket requires me to use a laptop. And I see people making Oscar worthy films on broken phones. There are people who use a screenless Raspberry Pi devices to send rockets to space!

I dont know how I will do this. But I will try and get to it.

.

9/ Broadcast list

On a whim, the other day I made a broadcast list on WA. Of all people who I want to keep posted about what’s up in my life. I did this cos I know that I suck with keeping in touch and I can not, not have people around me. So, I found the laziest way to do so!

In case you are keen on joining this, lemme know.

.

10/ Other Notes and Links

Some notes and thoughts. In no order…

  • This piece by Manu Joseph is gold.
  • ?

Guess this is it.

📸 Photos from the week gone by

Since I went to the beach a few times this week, I do have some photos. Plus, I did a shoot and thus there are photos.

As always, for people who ask.

🏃‍➡️ Health

Not a good week. I could do 12 till a few days ago. Now am back to 1o. Lets see when I do more. Also, I made a bet with Rana to do 50 pushups till the next year.

.

📈 The trackers of life

I didn’t track a lot to be honest. I will skip this, this week. Hope to be back with tracking next week, even with some travel and ambiguity.

.

📌 So, what did I get done last few weeks? And what will I do next week?

A one-line report on what shipped. Not WIP.

  • Health. Sleep, food, movement. Worse than last week. Twelve pushups down to ten. Plus I met Purav and he pointed that my diabetes is now visible on my face. Sigh.
  • C4E / Work. Chugging along. Still shuttling between 66MGRoad and Atlas Fractional.
  • Brand SG / Distribution. Nothing large.
  • People. Met a few.
  • Book2. Lol.
  • Shauk. Many things. Apps, writing, content, shoot etc etc.

.

Action on LARGE objectives for the year

In 2026, I plan to do three things.

  • Book2
  • Human Flag Pole
  • Save a million dollars

Book2 / Caravan Serai.
No movement this week again.

Human Flag Pole.
This week I walked more. And I reached up to a point that I could do 10 pushups on the trot. Lets see if I can continue with 10 for the next few days. I want to reach till 100.

Save a million dollars.
No action to report.

.

📅 One thing that defines the past week?

Busy.

I was about town!

The other words for this year have been: Skip, Routine (yeah same), Routine, Getting Back, Freedom, People, Motion, Show, Flow, Excitement, Embarrassment, Blur, Whiling, Movement, Activity, Regular, Easy, Journey, Downtime, Same, Drift, Routine.

Over and out.
Until next Friday.

Wk 37-25 – Weekly Notes

Notes, thoughts, highlights and other things from the week 37 of 2025. Wow time flies!

9 AM, Sunday the 14th,
Starbucks Versova,

I’ve had probably the toughest week in the last few weeks. If I look at my charts, I am sleeping well, emotions are in check but I had a terrible week. I know it. Quantified self may not be as quantifiable as we imagine it to be ;P

There is clearly a lot that goes under the hood that we are not aware of. And I think that ability to scratch beyond the surface is what separates winners from losers. At some point, I need to grow that ability. I dont think I have at this time.

Anyhow. A lot to be said and a lot to be thought about.

Let’s get going.

Oh, the song of the week is Jagjit Singh’s version of Chaudhavi Ki Raat. Here.

Chalo, let’s go…

💭 Highlights, reflections and notes from the past week

PS: As always, these are not in any order.

A/ Jazz
I have started to like Jazz. I never imagined that I would love things like Jazz music. But I like it now. May be its the impact that Akshay has had on me. Or may be its a natural instinct to start like mellow things as you age. Or may be its the appreciation of fine things in life (lol, am calling Jazz fine). Or maybe this is an hangover from Whiplash?

Whatever it is. It’s interesting and I like.

Here’s one of the playlists that I listen to often. And I am listening to this as we write this. You must watch this. People having fun!

And yes, my choice of music platform is Youtube. Not Spotify lol.

.

B/ SG’s Raison d’être
Am continuing this from last week’s point E.

Last week, I wrote this…

From last week’s update. Here.

From all the 84 people that read that post, 2 decided to support me. Both are at a 1000 a month. Thank you, Prakruti and Shruti. I now need 998 more folks.

Also, 2 out of 84 is not that bad to be honest. Now that I have 2 patrons, I need to think what can I offer them. And how can I expand this.

.

C/ Domesticated SG
I’ve found a spot in my house where the sun peeks at me in the morning. So, most days, I putter around there, peeling eggs, almonds, cleaning the kitchen and all that. I dont do anything of use to be honest. It’s an hour of wasting time but I am told by Dr H that I need to waste this hour. So that.

Oh, I am also getting a lot more domesticated. I am buying things like lunch boxes, containers and what not. I already have an air fryer, a blender, an egg boiler, a humidifier. Apart from tons of glass jars, spouters, containers and all that. I’ve ran away from a functioning kitchen all my life and now I have one. Sigh!

What age does to people ;P

.

D/ Walk streak
Since early august I was on a 8K per day streak. I broke it yesterday 🙁

This was made possible by Abhinav and Unlock!

I am committed to continue this. So while I missed this yesterday, I will try to get back to it today on. As I write this, I am on 1000 odd steps for the day. The ambition is to do 15K today. Let’s see how it goes.

.

E/ Weekly Updates + Roam
I found a way to import my blogs in Roam.

And now I have a tracking system! Yay!

.

F/ Distribution / Personal Brand
Not one day goes by when I am not reminded by how stupid it is that I did nothing on my personal brand over all these years that I have been active on social media and internet.

I really have to pull up my socks, pants, life and EVERYTHING that I can on this. I need to start putting my face and thoughts and ideas and everything else out!

.

G/ Upskilling Cohort for Mid-Career Folks
A friend (Akshay) and I had this idea – what if there was some cohort for mid-career professionals who are wading in the ambiguity with their careers? And the cohort could offer a structured program where you could attend sessions by others (gyaan), upskilling workshops (say AI), and opportunity to find gigs that are not soul-sucking full time jobs.

We floated this idea in couple of groups – one was DD’s group and the other was MDI’s community. We got some really interesting feedback. What do you think? Would you be interested? Why? Why not? What would you want to see in that cohort? What money would you pay? No, we dont want to charge people who want to upskill but we want to filter non-serious participants. And any other feedback?

.

H/ Bending Spoon’s acquisition of Vimeo
I read this week that Bending Spoons is acquiring Vimeo. If you are uninitiated about BS, they are a tech venture studio of sorts that also owns and runs wetransfer, issu and evernote! Oh, I also love their Values page!

Also, Bending Spoons is the kind of business that I want to create. In fact, the labs piece by AK is my ticket to that. I just need to find a way to show the kids the light and move beyond the quirks.

.

I/ Bharat Ek Khoj
Someone needs to reimagine and retell Bharat Ek Khoj. May be using AI. I wish I had the money to commission it! In fact, on that thread, reminds me, I have so so so many ideas that I want to work on and I dont know how to do all of those 🙁

Ok wait. I will not cry.
Moving on.

.

Ok, this is it. Moving on.

📷 Some Photos from the week gone by

Here are some photos that I took and saved in the last week. Here.

And here’s a photo that I want to share with the world…

Took this on one of the mornings at Starbucks.

Do share some of your photos with me 🙂

.

🈺 LARGE objective from the week gone by?

I had two large things when I started this year. Book 2 and a yearly plan (that I’ve been writing for a long time. This year I couldn’t). And I just added health a few weeks ago.

Book 2 – There was no movement.
A, I was busy with work.
B, Bri was busy as well.
So, I have nothing to report. Will get back next week.

Yearly Plan – I dropped it long ago.
Now its time to think about the plan for the next year. Lol.

Health – No large actions.
PS: I track my health updates here, in case.

☑️ So, what did I get done last week?

This is a one-line report on progress I made on various things that are important to me. I will only talk about things that I got done. Shipped. Not WIP.

  1. Health
  2. Meru
  3. C4E
  4. Brand SG
  5. People (Family, Friends, Strangers, etc)
  6. Book2
  7. Shauk (Music, Films, Poker etc)

Health. I was not on track at all.
With FOXO I had built a good habit of eating in moderation and all that but one slip from my side, I am back to the starting line. I need to get back on track. A 0.

Meru. Lot of action but no updates that I can put on this blog.
So, a 0.

C4E. No action from my side.
But we did survive one more month without ruin. So that’s a win for sure. With the way things are going, I will have to take up a loan to pay September salaries. So it has a good thing and a bad thing. May be a 0.

Brand SG. No action.
Riya and AK and Vishal and others have been at it but we havent shipped anything. So a -1. Also with a team and talent like that, it’s a shame that I am unable to get them to do more for me.

People. No action on this.
I’d say 0.

Book 2. Nothing.
So, -1

Shauk. No action.
No time.
And I am not losing sleep over it. So a 0.

So the overall score is -2.

📊 The tracker from the last week

Here is the tracker for the week gone by.

From Week 37 of 2025

What trends do you see?

I see…

  1. Better sleep despite my emotions being all over the place. Funnily the days that I was most screwed, I seem to be sleeping better. Lol.
  2. Food needs fixing for sure.

What do you see?

🏃🏻‍♂️‍➡️ Health

I added Health as a key section some days ago. I am still discovering what to cover here. Let’s see how it goes.

I read somewhere that you need 4 things to live long – sleep, exercise, diet and community. I will track all four. And then some more variables that I feel are important to me. Let’s see what comes out. Also, I log a few things at these links – food log, my daily health log channel.

1/ Sleep
Like I said, this seems to be ok.
Despite my emotions.
I think I am blessed!

2/ Exercise
No action 🙁

3/ Diet
I track each thing I eat on my food log.
Was terrible.

Here’s a screenshot of macros from last week. I am told I need to add 20% to what I track. Please do the math ;P

I use chatgpt to estimate this.

So, am ok on protein (I think) but I need to fix my carbs and calories.

Oh, in case you need my prompt for this, lemme know. It’s able to find macros but I am yet to automate it to a point that it can add to the tracker by itself. On that, I am sure it’s possible but I havent had the time to play with AI tools yet.

4/ Community
No large movement on this.

5/ REDACTED
This was being tracked till the last week. I have stopped this from this week onward.

6/ Movement
No action.

Apart from steps over the last week. See this.

7/ Meditation
No action.

Overall, despite everything, I am unable to anything about moving the metrics that matter. I think I need intervention! Who? Come on, universe. #sgtodo

Also, question for the world at large – how to people manage work, life, family and fitness? #tothink

📖 Interesting Reads / Views from the last week

I read a lot last week. I mean it feels like that.

Here are some pieces that I want to share…

1/ Longevity as the new status game by JMJ. Here. Satirical read about how longevity has become the new pursuit of the rich and tech-ous.

2/ The note from Wire about the Nepal situation. Here.

3/ Here’s a note on Pmarca’s operating principles and the change. Here. I think I am somewhere in the same flux. Over the last year or so, I’ve become a lot more manager than maker. And thus I need to change as well.

4/ My friend Pavithra on self worth, told thru the lens of GLP-1 drugs and Serena’s decision to promote these drugs. Here.

5/ This tweet on how to use modern digital marketing.

6/ Aarya write about what makes Apple, Apple. Very well written piece from a young person. Must read. Here.

7/ This story on Parsi’s Towers of Silence. And Vultures. Really. MUST read. For sheer joy of reading. And amazement.

8/ This review of Manu Joseph’s book, Why The Poor Don’t Kill Us. No, I have not read the book. But I am aware of the sharp tongue of the man. And I love how he’s able to write so well. This review is Josephesque itself. Do read.

9/ Ev (the twitter guy) talking about “Why Greatness Can’t be Planned”. I havent read the book but I love the narrative. Here. I can totally see myself buying the book. Meanwhile, here’s a summary of the book.

10/ Saw this on HV Pandya’s X. About Steve Job’s Miracle Year at Apple. Here. Oh, and here’s to the crazy ones

.

Thats it for this week. Phew!

🧠 Reminders from last week

This section captures things that I want to not forget. I add those to SG’s Office. I will copy paste these week on week and track updates.

I’ve been skipping this for a while now.
Lets see when I get back to this.

🥡 So, one thing that defines the past week?

Oh and in the previous weeks, the one-word reviews have been… Routine, Routine, Busy, Grind, Blur, Stress, Numb, Blur, Fast, Uncool, Disappeared, Experience, Grind, Busy for Nothing, Regular, Getting back to action, Slack, Busyness, Action, Survive, Looking Up, Survival, Taste, Community, Respect, Money, People.
